Charleston to HHI?
In order to get decent flight connections and rates this spring, we are flying into Charleston instead of Savannah. How's the drive between Charleston and HHI? Any tips?

Seems to me that it took me about 2 hours. The roads are not real good, some being 2 lane. Not senic at all. Nothing scary though, but get a good map as it could have been better marked. This is from several years ago.

It's 90 miles away. We stopped to see one of the beautiful plantations in the area and did a city tour. Did a daytrip from HH.

Charleston
(1)The drive is along state highways for most of the way (if you want the shortest distance), unless one wishes to take the interstate in a round-about way. Go to Mapquest.com and type in Charleston, SC and look .
(2) If you are able, take one-two days and see Charleston...it IS a gorgeous city, and you can have a ball seeing some beautiful and historic homes, and the "Battery" area down near the water . There are 2 nice timeshares in the historic district where you can rent by the night! (Lodge Alley Inn & Church Street Inn---both 5-stars. Both are listed in the Interval Int'l catalog.) Just look them up and call the resorts...they will accommodate. Also lots of wonderful B & B's ...... Lots of great shopping on King Street and in the old Slave Market area. And some great, great restaurants...casual or fine-dining. A carriage tour around the city's old beautiful homes and gardens is a must. Did you know that Charleston is in the top 3 cities in the country as "destination of choice", depending on the survey, and some have it as number one???? It's true. OK, Last EASY chance to see Charleston!!!!! jme ![]() Last edited by jme : February 17, 2006 at 04:55 PM. |
