Just grabbed a 2-bedroom unit for Spring Break for my sister-in-law. I wondered what things are provided in the unit, and which things they will need to buy. For example, do they provide shampoo, soap, dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid soap, Kleenex, paper towels, etc.

Is the Walmart open? And, how does one get there if one does not have a car?

Also, does the Royal Islander charge for tennis time? What about a fitness center? Is there a daily fee for that, or is it included? Another question: do they have complimentary snorkel gear, bicycles, and other water sports equipment?

As far as attractions in the area, is there snorkeling, or did the hurricane disrupt the reef? Which attraction is best - considering the hurricane damage? For example, Excaret, Tulum, etc?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for all your help.

There is no charge for the use of tennis courts or snorkeling/water sports equipment. There may be a charge for bicycles. I believe Walmart is open and you can get there by taxi or number 2 bus. I haven't heard much about the condition of the coastal attractions.

There are a lot of recent posts on this board from people who have been in Cancun in the last few months that will have answers to all your questions.

Also, does the Royal Islander charge for tennis time? NO, it's free
What about a fitness center? There is a charge, and it is at the Royal Sands. It used to be about $7/day - or you could buy a weekly pass for a small discount.
do they have complimentary snorkel gear Yes
bicycles Yes
other water sports equipment - Yes. You can even borrow a sailfish to take out on the lagoon. You can also take scuba diving lessons in the pool a couple of times each week
