HI,

I have traded in for two weeks at the end of April for Marriott Harbour Lake. I have read some bad reviews on the internet and am wanting information on how to not get a bad room. I have read the elevators are so noisy, the doors smash everytime a room closes, the Interstate traffic is super loud.

i am wondering now since I can't really get out of this booking are there any good room suggestions for a room with not much traffic noise?

Thanks:hi:

Harbour Lake is a great resort. I have heard the doors slamming now that I think of it. I think if you request a dedicated unit in any building other than 28, 29, 30, and 31 you should be fine. Those buildings include the lock off units, so that would mean more doors that could potentially be slamming shut. Avoiding building 15 should keep you far enough away from I4 to not be bothered with highway noise.

Last year we were initially placed in the last villa in building 15 which was adjacent to the interstate. It took me two minutes of standing on the balcony to realise that there was no way I could stay in that room, the noise was constant and quite loud.

I would avoid buildings 15 and 14 and go for any of the others.

As for the doors, they're heavy fire doors that will slam shut if not closed with care. Unfortunately there's a lot of people who don't close doors with care. Personally I can't recall it ever being an issue. In fact, with the exception of our initial placement there was nothing about the resort that I could find issue with. It is an excellent, well run resort.

I'd ignore the bad reviews. Many are written by people who don't understand the concept of timeshare and expect service to be like a hotel. Once past building 15 there is no traffic noise. The only noise you'll hear is the sound of children having fun. The grounds are immaculate and well kept and the activities on offer are the most comprehensive of any Marriott's we've been to.

As long as you avoid the two buildings at the end there is absolutely no reason not to go to HL.
