Which Exchange company will come through?

This week I have put a search in at RCI, II and SFX for a specific week I need in Kauai. July 2006

RCI & SFX I used my HGVC weeks
II , I used a Marriott Summit Watch Gold studio week 26

I'm sure I'd pull a Marriott in II, but it'd probably be last minute.

Which exchange company do you think will call first with a good resort?

II, I limited my search to the top 6 or 7 resorts
SFX, they only accept the top resorts
RCI, HGVC has a very high VEP and will limit my resort choices.
 
Depending upon which resort you want, RCI should be able to get you the Pahio resorts. SFX should be able to get you most anything. HTSE (eventhough you didn't mention them) should get you Lawai Beach. Trading Places should get you several also.

Where/ which resort are you looking for?

I forget about those other independants.

I'm just looking for a Gold Crown resort, close to a nice beach.. even a studio room would be fine, if it had limited kitchen..

hmm.. I just went and looked at it.. checkin is a day earlier than I needed, I'd have to rent a hotel for a night.. which might be ok.
 
Dave - you can probably rent at LBR for the night.
 
I would put my money on SFx but they might not be first.

RCI will come up with inventory first probably.
sfx with have the best trade.
II will get a marriott studio
 
Late Checkin

Why not do what I do. When I can't make a checkin date, I call the resort and tell them I will be a day late. That way they know I am coming and will hold my room. I do this sometimes to match FF miles award tickets. You might only get 6 days rather than 7 but it gets you the resort you want.

I have used SFX for Hawaii twice. Got Pahio eao Kai (sp) resort in Princeville and Mauna Loa in Kona. I like SFX for their Hawaii connections.

Your post brought up a question that I've been wondering about for a while. I've never had the guts to put in exchange requests for the same week with multiple companies because I was afraid that I'd end up with more than one confirmation for the same week. How are you going to avoid that possibility? II and SFX automatically confirm without asking first.

You have 24 hours to cancel your confirmed exchange with II... I don't know about SFX.
 
SFX has a comment box when you put in the exchange request.
I always type that I would like to be called with the resort prior to confirming.

So far they have always called me..

I just found out my deposit with SFX hasn't been verified yet. It will probably be on Friday. So my search won't officially start until then.

I think I will give everyone a month.. then I'll try to book Lawai Beach resort with HTSE. I don't think I have a deposit to give them at the moment.

I do, but I already have plans for those weeks.. I need to be able to bank my weeks 3 years out. :eek:
 
RCI/HGVC is the first to come through..
They offered Pahio Bali hai 1bd ..

So 10 days of an ongoing search isn't too bad.

I do have to say, I got the SFX search in late.. so its been less than a week.
 
Wow, I've had a search ongoing for over a year for Pahio with a gold crown Orlando resort banked with RCI. It doesn't seem to be able to draw anything!
