Parking at the International AA Terminal at JFK
My husband pulled up something on the computer that indicates parking is not available (due to construction) at the International AA Terminal at JFK. Can anyone confirm this, or does anyone know if there is still handicapped parking available somewhere close?
It is difficult for us to park and take a shuttle with a wheelchair. Thanks, Sharon |

Yes, your information is correct. Options would be park in long term parking (the less expensive option) and take the air train to the terminal. Or, park in adjacent terminal, 1 or 8 and take the air train over.

International arrivals terminal is #4, nowhere near terminals 1 and 8 parking. In addition, terminal 8+9 lots are closed due to construction and parking is over by the old tower air terminal with a shuttle bus to the terminal, which doesn't help you at all. I checked the JFK site and while they mentioned the AA 8 and 9 lot closing there was nothing about the lot at 4 being closed. Perhaps you could call the port authority for a confirmation ot even the port authority police at JFK, they would certainly know. As far as long term parking to the air train, that can be a haul. Before air train you could park anywhere in the lot and the bus would pick you up. Now, unless you get very lucky, you park some distance away and walk to the air train terminal. Some progress!
