I'm holding a reservation for AKL and called up RCI to find the room code and was told that the room code is SGSAVSA, I think that this is a studio, with a savanna view with a Saturday check in.

I'm wondering about the "G" in the code. I've searched the forums but can't find anything.

I was also wondering if once I confirm the reservation with RCI, will the code show up on my reservation? I'm holding this through the RCI/Wyndham portal and can't cancel the reservation trick to see the unit type.

I don't know about the SG part, but I think you are right on the rest.

If you requested a studio, I would assume the S stands for that.

If the checkin date that came through is a Saturday, I'd assume the SA at the end stands for Saturday checkin.

And I think SAV meaning Savanna View makes sense.

The only question I have is why did you request a studio when 1 BRs are probably easier to get (there are more of them), more spacious, have full kitchens, and cost the same number of points?

Also, with Wyndham, you can accept the exchange and cancel/reinstate your OGS within 24 hours with no penalty.

I confirmed AKL through the Wyndham portal recently. The code will show up on your second confirmation e-mail with all the details, 2 days after you confirm. By then I believe it's too late to cancel without losing your exchange fee. There is also a first confirmation e-mail right after you book, but that does not have the code.

Sorry I don't know about the "G" in the code.

FWIW, the unit code on my confirmation letter from RCI is actually 28S -- meaning 2 BR, occupancy limit 8, Saturday checkin. That's for OKW; I'm sure different DVC resorts could well have different codes.

I called RCI back and it's actually "ST" which makes sense. I just couldn't figure out the SG, go figure.....

I didn't have an OSG for this week, just saw this on the sightings board this morning and the week fits exactly with my spring break vacation. I'd much rather the 1 bedroom, but don't know if I should release this week since its exactly the dates I need.

I wonder if a 1-bedroom might become available?

Thanks ailin! It's nice knowing that the code will eventually show up, I feel better now.

With the exact dates you wanted...if you're comfortable with a studio, I wouldn't risk changing anything.
