I just exchanged for a two bedroom 2 bath unit for 6/4 with full kitchen at this resort for Christmas. Does anyone have any new info on the resort? This is our first time to stay here. Are there any good restaurants on site or close by? Also what is the best route to get to and from Disney World?

Thanks,

Suzanne

Great location - walk to almost anything you need

Suzanne - You are surrounded by restaurants and shopping at Cypress Pointe. The best way to Disney is to simply turn left out of the main entrance road, go 1/2 mile and turn right into the main entrance to Downtown Disney. From there you can get to any Disney park or feature in a few minutes. There is a Wynn Dixie one street over - Goodings in the Crossroads plaza 1/2 mile away. Be sure to try Giordano's - the best deep dish pizza I've ever had.

By December the new roofs should be completed on all the buildings and the new Starbucks / Cafe should be open by the signature Volcano pool. One hint - the pool towels are under the master bedroom sink. Many people seem to miss that and end up without towels by the pools.

Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know.

Thank you John, It sounds like this resort is a very nice place and we like its close location to Disney.

We are so excited about spending Christmas with the Mouse. We're thinking about adding a 2nd week so we can also spend New Years there as well. I have a week that I will lose if I don't use it by March, 2007. If I use it for New Years I can get 3 days out of the week instead of losing it altogether. Unfortunately I can't get the entire week of work.

I hope the Starbucks is up and running when we get there as its our favorite coffee. I always take my Starbucks French Roast with me when we travel. I have to have my coffee first thing in the morning.lol The pizza sounds wonderful, do you know if they deliver to the resorts?

Thanks again for your help.

Suzanne

Great source of information

Suzanne,

A great source of up to the minute information about the resort is located at www.cypresspointe.net. The Board maintains a great deal of useful information and pictures.

Choices and delivery too

For the coffee - I'm with you. When I'm at CP I walk over to Dunkin Donuts now but as soon as the Starbucks is open I'll have a tough choice! Giardano's does deliver to the resorts. Have a great trip.

John, where's the Dunkin Donuts? We're headed down in July for the second time and I think this is something I really need to know about :).

CP is a great resort with lots of stuff nearby. Don't worry about a thing.

I need my Dunkin Donuts!

Dunkin Donuts: Directly accross the street from the main entrance road - up 1/4 mile next to Schoneys (which is next to Chilis next to Macaroni Grill next to Joes Crab Shack). And that is just a small sample of the many eateries within a 1/4 mle walk. Sidewalks and crosswalks all the way. It is very pedestrian friendly.

By the way, right after the hurricanes of 2004 the DD closed. I was worried that they wouldn"t reopen but they remodeled & did. Saved!
