Reserving Christmas Week

I want to reserve week 52 (i.e. the week after Christmas). My resort (Cypress Harbour) has a Thursday check-in which means that December 25th would be one year in advance.

Does anyone know if we will be able to reserve on-line on the 25th?
 
It was my understanding that if the call in day fell on a holiday or Sunday, that inventory was released the following day.
 
Use the MVCI web site

There is a inventory release calendar feature on the MVCI owners web site. I believe that it is under the "plan a vacation" pull-down menu. It is specific by location. You identify the date you want to check in and it tells you the date that the inventory will be released. I would think that this information should/would take into account the holiday closure if that is the case. Hope this helps you find the information you are looking for.
 
Just checked it on MVCI

I just used the tool I described in the previous post using a check in date of Dec. 25, 2014 (Thursday). The release calendar said December 26, 2013.

Thanks. I shouldn't have a problem if I call at 9:00 AM. Cypress Harbour is relatively easy to reserve. Since there are 3 seasons and most weeks have similar trade power, there is not as much competition for the any given week.

I expect that Marriott will be busy that morning since members from the resorts with Friday - Sunday check-in will be calling in as well.

I'd expect the system to be overall busy because it's also a school vacation week for most students. I wouldn't be too sure of Cypress Harbour availability, though, because it's a MAJOR week to visit Disney World - one of the two most busy weeks in their attendance calendar.

No doubt you're smart enough to be online/on the phone at 9AM sharp. :) Good luck.

Because of how Christmas falls this year, it causes a rare situation where the 13 month window for Thursday checkin weeks and the 12 month window open on the same day. Compounded by the fact that people will be booking Christmas week. I would expect the phone lines to be jammed and the website to be very slow.

Yep. As I recall, the last time this occured I could not get a Saturday check-in but was able to get one for Christmas day. I am going to use the unit to trade. I currently have a spring break week reserved (Easter was too late) but want to extend the time that I can use the week in Interval.
 
I got my week. The opening message at 9:00 AM was that there was a 14 minute wait. It went much quicker than that. The rep mentioned that there were resorts that were sold out by the time I got connected which was about 9:06.
