Hawaii Inter island Airfare
How likely are we to obtain four frequent flyer tickets on inter island flights on Aloha for the end of this August if we won't have enough miles for another two months?

If you're using Aloha FF miles I can't speak to your question; however, if you're trying to use United miles for Aloha my recent experience is that it could be a tough task.
Back in Jan. I began requesting flights on Aloha w/United FF miles for May/June. I was confirmed without too much trouble but just this past week, Aloha bumped my KOA to HNL return to the last flight of the day which would cause me to miss a connecting flight. In trying to request another flight (now just three months out), I have not had any success. Every flight now is not available. The agent says just to keep trying back periodically, maybe something will pop-up later. The United 5k miles per rt is a great deal but seats are very limited. Hope you have better luck! Tom |

A month or so ago I booked interisland from HNL to LIH for this August using Alaska Airlines FF miles. At that time, there were only two flights available on which we could use our FF miles.
Looking at the Hawaiian airlines website, those two flights were also the only two flights that were offering tickets for purchase in the two lowest fare baskets.

Remember, too, that FF miles that are EARNED often don't show up on your ACCOUNT for another 2-3 months.
If you're buying, it's better to buy the interisland flights EARLY as the price goes up as the flight fills. Could you buy tickets that are refundable (not sure if this is available or worth the price?) and get refunds if you do get seats? Almost everytime I've gotten NWA FF tickets for interisland flights, I had to use "Rule Buster" which burned 15,000 miles per oneway segment. Ouch. Only use that if you have miles to burn. A friend was looking for July and couldn't get a FF seat with 3 different FF programs for the Interisland flights.
