I used DC points to secure a 2BR for Feb 22 - Mar 1 this year. My confirmation says it is an ocean side. Can any one tell me which building(s) that might be in? Are there any buildings that are less desirable? Which should I request?

Thanks

All MFC units are ocean side. In reality they are all ocean front or more accurately bay front. Get the highest floor you can get and don't fret about the bldg too much. All the rooms on all floors in Jost Van Dyke and Tortola have a pretty much unobstructed view of the water. Those in St John and Virgin Gorda can have a lesser view on the lower two floors. The Crown bldg is the checkin bldg and is set back a bit and while it has good views you're set back from the water a little with a narrow view.

I'll be there when you arrive so PM me if you want more info.

Just back from MFC

We stayed at MFC the week after New Years. We were on the 1st floor of the Virgin Gorda building and we had a great view. Also, we were the end unit and right next to the outside staircase that led down to the BBQ area so we hardly ever used the elevators, other than to get down to the pool beach level from the street. We had a great stay and were very happy with our unit and the weather. Back in sub freezing NJ/NY we wish we were going back to StT.
If you have any other questions please feel free to post or PM me.
Brian:)

Agree! I've had rooms in evry bldg except Crown. They are all good particularly on higher floors where view is concerned. If you grill most nights like I do try not to get St. John or Crown

We actually like St John and we grill with no problem. Since we are not weeks owners here, we figure that we will be happy any place they put us. It is wonderful here right now as always.

You're right of course. Just a few extra steps

Thanks for everyone's info. However I just received the following as part of the pre-arrival email

Villa Location Preferences
Marriott's Frenchman's Cove experiences a higher than normal volume of Owners coming on their ownership weeks. Because we assign our Owners returning to their home resort first, the villa locations that remain are typically on the lower floors of the St. John and Crown House buildings.

Please help us understand your villa location preferences by providing us with your 1st and 2nd preferred locations. We will try to accommodate your preferences based on availability. To assist you with selecting your preferences click here to view a resort map.

As a reminder, the resort team is unable to provide any upgrades on property.

1st Preference
Building: St. John Check In Building No Preference
Floor: First Second No Preference

2nd Preference
Building: St. John Check In Building No Preference
Floor: First Second No Preference

Any thoughts on how I can get a higher floor? I got the trade using DC points (not thru an II trade) and am a Premier owner with Marriott Reward lifetime platinum status. Thanks

Is it better to rent a week from Marriott to assure ocean front and a high floor ?

Tell them it's a special occasion, an anniversary or birthday etc...maybe they'll try to accommodate your request. That said I'm an owner at MFC and have never been given my preferred building/floor request. Good luck :)

There is no place on the web page they supplied for comments. Do you have another way to connect with them?

I know some people on this board have the contact/e-mail info for the resort and GM. I'm sure someone will chime in with the info.

I think DC is still considered trading in and so owners will be ahead of you. I get the same thing because although an owner I usually trade in through II. Like the previous poster I never (seldom) get my fist pick but I've always been happy with what I had. The resort phone # should be on confirmation doc? Call about 2 weeks out and place a request to back up the online submission

Now I don't see phone #s on my old certs so guess I was wrong. Any way
