Ameniti

I am interested in Ameniti offered by United Airlines. They have a current promo that seems pretty good. (25,000 ff miles and free companion ticket any time you fly and buy a full fare ticket). I'm sure the catch is that you must buy a full fare ticket and I'm sure those are expensive as compared to the lower booking coded tickets. I would be interested in other Ameniti members response. I would indicate that I do primarily leisure flying and I try to take a couple international trips each year along with a few visits to see my children who live on the East and West Coast. I'm wondering if the perks are outweighed by the higher ticket prices necessary to travel.

I did buy the Ameniti membership last year. I only did it to get the 25,000 miles. The free companion tickets for full fare are not worth it to me. You do get 2 RCC day passes, a choice beer/wine/coffee shipped to your home and subscription to Conde Nast Traveler. If you had to buy or fly to get 25,000 miles, it would cost you a lot more than the cost of the Ameniti membership. The big question is whether or not the cost is worth it to you.

I have joined last year.
I think it is beneficial to get ff miles.
you can upgrade your starwood preferred guest membership to elite and hertz # 1 gold
membership is free for ist year.
Regarding free companion tickets , it is useless. They quote astrocious prices.
You can get both the tickets at a less price at united.com website itself.
