How do I post in the Bargain Deal Marketplace? I added a post (or at least I thought I did) but I don't see it advertised.

This is the Bargain Deals Forum, and you did just post here.

The TUG Marketplace is in a different area (see red link at the top of the page) and it is our classified Ads area. You must be a TUG member to post there. It takes 24 hours for Ads to be posted in the Marketplace.

What does startOption value mean?

What does startOption value mean?

This is a Starwood Resort, (Westin/Sheraton) so it can be traded for other Starwood resorts through Starwood internal system. This timeshare is worth 81,000 Staroptions, which is what Starwood calls their trading points.

I am thinking key winter/spring holidays the Atlantis property could bring in big $$$$. However, from my understanding, the annual dues are the same, based on unit size, regardless of season. Some times of the year, one could not get back dues, from rent; while others you could make a good return.

What's the difference with the Starpoints?

So you can use your points at Sheraton/Weston properties worldwide??

Really, I did not know this, as the only thing I remember with my phone conversation with Starwood, was their 5 star program.

I was told that 5 star got you Platinum VIP status for their hotels. But it costs 200K to get there!

Yes, [someone who bought this timeshare from the developer] would be able to convert [their] timeshare into 44,000 Hotel points. But most people by a timeshare like this to use it - it's not a good value to convert it to Hotel Points.

Ability to convert to Starpoints does not transfer in resale.

I thought HRA was a mandatory resort? Meaning that StarOptions to transfer upon resale.

Staroption pertains to internal Starwood Vacation Network trading system. Starpoint pertains to Starwood hotel system. Much like DC points vs. MRP.

I'm sorry, I was not clear in my previous post. Starwood timeshares purchased from the developer have both Starpoints (Hotel Points) and Staroptions (timeshare points.)

When they are resold - NONE of them have Starpoints (Hotel Points) but a handful of them have Staroptions (timeshare points.)

Good luck I'd bite but CTU would deny yearly funding requests
