We will be heading to Destin next month, staying at FF Majestic Sun. Our kids are aged 12 & 14. Can anyone suggest good beaches, day trips, restaurant suggestions, etc.

Thanks :)

Make sure you eat at a restaurant call Fudpucker's. Good sandwiches and such, but the biggest draw for kids is the alligator pool. Kids can feed and watch alligators and have their picture taken with a baby one! Even my older kids thought it was a fun place to go. Even if you don't want to eat there, you can still go into the section with the alligators.

Yes, and any money they make from the alligator pond they donate to the Wildlife Refuge--which I volunteer at. We rehabilate the animals and set them free and also do dolphin strandings:)

A fishing charter would be great depending on the age of the kids. They also do dolphin crusies late afternoon to see the dolphins. Big Kahunas is a water park.

Just about all..

Just about all resort areas are on or near beach. The Majestic sun is across from the beach.. ( You will have to cross the road to get to the beach) If you are lucky you might get a waterview condo. If you are driving, bring beach chairs and Umbrella with you.

There are lots of restaurants on the water. Most of them are seafood and are pricey.

At the foot of the Hwy. 98 bridge there arefishing charter boats. If you are in to fishing go for them. If not they also offer Dolphin or sunset 2 hour cruise. One I took was Marlins Charter service. They were very proffesional.
If you catch the fish, several restaurants offers the service of cleaning and cooking them for you.

If you are flying in, I believe Pensacola Airport would be cheaper to fly into than others.

In Pensacola Naval Air museum is a must see ( 60 miles from Destin)

Goodluck.
