Read this if you've received your activation email but are having problems with it.

The final step in activating your bbs registration is to go to the link provided in the "activation email" sent out by the bbs when you submit your registration application. This confirms to the bbs that you have received the email and that the email address the bbs has for you is valid.

If you have not received this email please see the thread covering this (click here).
Note: The bbs will send additional notices periodically to accounts that have not yet been activated. With each new notice, new activation codes are issued and the old activation codes are deactivated. Be sure you use the most recent copy of the activation email.

You can have the bbs send an updated registration activation email to you by going to www.tugbbs.com/forums/register.php?do=requestemail and entering the same email address you entered when you registered (or subsequently updated). This can ONLY be sent to the address currently entered in your bbs profile.
The web address given in your activation email includes codes at the end which tell the system exactly which user is trying to activate his/her account.

The address should look something like this non-working example:
http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/register.php?a=act&u=XXXX&i=YYYYYYYY

(where XXXX and YYYYYYYY are numbers unique to you and this email). If you are not attempting to go to this FULL address, it will result in an error message saying "this web address is not valid".

Different email clients handle long addresses in different ways. If your email client splits this long address into more than one line, or otherwise does not include the entire address as part of a clickable hyperlink, it may be that only the first portion is getting entered in your browser, thus the system does not know which user is trying to activate his/her account.

Try to copy/paste the ENTIRE address from your activation email, including ? and everything that follows it, into the address bar of your browser and see what happens.

If this still doesn't work for you, you should still be able to activate your registration by following the information in the email below the "**** Does The Above Link Not Work? ****" line.

Users of the AOL browser sometimes report problems in activating their accounts. If you use the AOL browser, please see this post: http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32835

And finally, many times we receive pleas for help with activation only to find that the person's record shows them to have successfully completed their registration already. Before contacting BBS Administration for help, go ahead and log in using the username and password you selected when you entered your registration information. If you do NOT see the notice in red that you have not yet activated your registration (directly below the red link bar at the top of the page) then your registration has been successfully activated.

If all else fails, you can forward your entire activation email message to admin@tugbbs.com with a request to activate you manually, but please try all of the above first.
