I own at Las Vegas Flamingo and have had no problems trading. Is Orlando the same. I am interested in buying another HGVC and am not sure about which location to consider or if I should just look at points and maintenance fees. Of course a good price is always a factor. Please help.

From what I was told, Orlando is abundant with timeshares. However, the good resort during Spring/March Break and Xmas/New Years are still very hard to trade into.

Hiltons are a point based system. ALL Hilton points trade EXACTLY the same, and they have very high trade power through RCI.

That seems to be the standard wisdom with HGVC. Buy where you can get the best prices with the lowest maintenance fee's, which are to my understanding the Orlando or Las Vegas clubs. Seth, I am sure would be glad to help you out if you email him privately. As noted, he has a great reputation here on TUG.

If all your stays are going to be done by using your points to make HGVC reservations then it doesn't matter where you buy.

But if you want to often stay in Orlando during platinum in a 2 bd then buy that. Each year you use your own unit instead of using your points you'll saving money. It is a big deal? NO, but why use your HGVC points for $60 if you can make a free reservation at your home resort.

Good Luck

PS this advice assumes that we are not talking about Hawaii. Where the prices are so very much higher that I can't ever recommend buying there, unless your travel plans are very very strict.
