Hi Madge,

I am new to RCI. I have 2 Silver Crown timeshares and would love to take my family to the Fairfield in DC. I spoke with a representative at RCI who said basically it is impossible. Is there anything that a member can do to try and get a trade there??

Sincerely,
Paul Hargraves

Along those lines, if Alexandria is so impossible to get why does it trade so poorly in RCI? I own two Alexandria weeks (one bedrooms) and my studio low weeks in Branson trade just as well as the Alexandria Thanksgiving and President's Day weeks. That makes no sense to me at all . . .

I am moving this thread to Exchanging as it does not contain any questions for Madge.

Mr. Donovan,

I had a specific QUESTION for Madge could you please put it back in the RCI forum for her. If she cant answer she can say so herself.

Sincerely,
Paul Hargraves

Neither is a particularly popular time to visit DC. Thanksgiving is a for visiting family (for the majority) and President's day is just yucky with a chance of snow or cold rain. This is also the time period Fairfield uses for bulk deposits so there is supply. If you want to ARP a strong trader, get Cherry Blossom Festival (end of March-first of April) or Summer.

Direct trades can also be a good strategy.

Paul -

The following quote from the rules posted at the top of the list of topics for the Ask RCI forum should explain why your question was moved here.
The RCI representatives participating here will not be able to comment on personal account activity questions. For help with individual issues, you may contact RCI via regular customer service channels at feedback@rci.com (include TUG as part of your subject line) or 1-800-338-7777.
Madge doesn't comment on whether particular exchanges are possible.

I find alexandria to be a great trade - using a prime, summer week. Presidents and T-days are white weeks......

Something you need to know.... the 'quality' rating of your timeshares has no direct correlation with their trade power which is mostly a function of supply vs. demand. My best traders are lower rated resorts (not because of VEP issues (you say, what's that)) but because they are in locations and times that are in demand with short supply.
