Returned from Sunset Fishermen's Playa Del Carmen.

Got back last night. Stayed at Sunset Fisherman's. I own there, but this time got a last call with RCI so had to use the all-inclusive plan. Wined about coming late 8:45 p.m. and leaving early the next week 7:00a.m. so only had to pay for 6 days of plan total of 282.00 per person. This is alot of money for me to pay as I don't drink much. Now after a week of trying to get my monies worth I might have to enter rehab You got two meals a day with this breakfast(buffet) choice of lunch or dinner. Only one rest. and two bars. This is a small resort with only 67 rooms. also an Italian rest. for dinner that you had to make reservation for. This place was great. the breakfast buffet was good and dinner buffets were OK. The room was a studio and they are large with a good kitchen in them. the view was great. Nice balcony and hot tub on the balcony. I know I should write and review and maybe I will.
Sales staff are sharks so look out. Spoke to alot of other owners at the pool. I was afraid they were going to get the polica to drag me away. My friend started calling me the Erin Brockovich of Timeshare for consumers rights

How was the condition of the beach. There was not much before Wilma hit. How is it now?

The beach is coming back very nicely. When I was on sight in Feb. there was no beach or pool. Last week there was a great pool and many chairs and umbrellas on the beach. They are working on a new reef. Also a beach club for now about 10 minute walk.

Was there any disscussion about the "Special assessment fee" among the members?

Yes the special assessment was discussed. No one that I spoke to had paid it yet. I am an owner, but this week I was there on an RCI exchange. Many other RCI people on site so they would know nothing about the assessment. I can tell you there were alot of dissatisfied owners sitting around the new pool. Everyone talking about the sales force what snakes and liars they are.
FYI I changed my reservation while I was onsite for 2007 and they did not make me pay the special assessment first before making the reservation. The down side is all available units are reserved the time in Feb. 2007 that I was looking for. I got the last two units. the resort itself is looking great and pool is very nice with the beach coming back. The resort staff is good also. Except for the conceige staff most of the gals in white and black are just more sales staff in conceige clothing. The sales staff was keeping a pretty good eye and me, because I was creating unrest among the owners
