Hi,

How can I tell what bldg and whether a unit is a lock-off unit?

I have unit number KO*0427*A09*X.

I seem to remember seeing a thread awhile back that showed how to "decode" the unit number...

Mahalo!

That sound like a unit number that would be associated with deeded ownership. It doesn't matter if your deeded unit is a lock off or not, Ko'Olina is a floating week floating unit ownership. So all owners can lock off based on availability. Having a deeded lock off unit doesn't guaranty that you will be able to lock off, unless the resort is 100% lock off units which Ko'Olina isn't.

All that said, I don't think there is anywhere in the unit number coding that indicates it is a lock off unit. The X does indicate an every other year odd ownership though. I would think someone could decipher the building from it, though again, it doesn't matter with a floating unit ownership.

What about the building? When you buy at Ko Olina, is it a generic reservation that you make that you could end up on any building?

Yes it is floating membership. What unit number you own on the deed has no bearing on what building you will be assigned. The only bearing deed unit number will have on is ocean view or island view.

I was wondering if a Tugger had won this unit on Ebay at $3645.00?

I think the thread you are referring to is this one. But it's not conclusive and I don't know if the unit you are looking at is Mountain or Ocean View. Did you buy it?

Best,

Greg

If it is the one I am referring to it is suppose to be ocean view!

I was the second highest bidder on this on at $3600. Was tempted to put a higher proxy but it just jumped over me in the last 7 seconds.

I did not end up bidding on the unit. Too many other questions. I wonder if it will pass ROFR. How will we know?

I bailed just below $3000. This unit appeared to be had at a great price (from the way the bidding was going) but I just have too many timeshares presently. My thinking was since it was an eoy that Marriott just might pass on it therefore it would be worth the effort!

List of unit views

Took a while to dig through my pile of crap, but here is a list of units/views. Not sure if it includes the latest & to-be-built units, but since they will be in the Trust anyway I'm not sure that it matters.
