Sands Ocean Club ???

Has anyone stayed here recently that can give an opinion of this place? I am not familiar with the Myrtle Beach area so I don't have a clue if it is in a good location or not, or what the facilities are like. The TUG reviews are over a year old and not real favorable, but recent reviews on Trip Advisor are good. Somehow I trust the opinion of Tuggers a little more than I do with TA.

Thanks!

since nobody has answered you, I will try my best.

Me and DH stayed there in 2003 (?) in I believe a studio. It is in a nice location at the beginning of N MB. I think heading north you turn right at the light just beyond Carolina Opry (arrowhead road ) go to the stop sign, continue thru bearing right. It is on the left side almost at the end of the street. (Sands beach club is at the end of the road which you can order California pizza from there and delivered to your room)

The resort is "U" shaped and our room was in the short end of the "U" giving us an ocean view, but not full ocean view cause of being set back some. I t has a small balcony where you can sit out. The kitchen was somewhat dated but served the purpose. Has a small lazy river, nothing elaborate. The outdoor pool has live music most of the day and into the night. You can sit there on the "higher deck" but expected to order a drink (expensive).

We usually sat at the lower level and brought our own drinks from the room. Ocean Annies is the pool side restaurant. Good burgers and blooming onion. They also have another restaurant on site but we did not eat there.

You can walk to a small touristy shopping area for souveniers, etc. At the corner of Kings Hgwy and (Arrowhead rd) is a grocery store, Kroger I think.

All in all, yes I would stay there again. :Location - good and right on the beach

This is from 3 yrs. ago when we stayed, so don't know if things have changed.

go to this link for more info. As I said , it's been 3 yrs since we were there and I forgot alot. The exercise room, convenient grocery store etc. We've stayed at 3 or 4 TS in MB, so don't want to get confused.

If you've never been to MB, I suggest going to Carolina Opry (good enertainment) music of all kinds. Tribute has impersonators, which also does Legends. Legends is heading south past RT 501. If you go to Legends, lv early and go to Crabby Mikes Smorgasboard. Also plan on a day at Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. Do a search for these They have their own web sites.

So much to do in MB!!!!!!
any questions, send me an em and I will try to help!!!!

Re: Sands Ocean Club ???

It's an older resort but has a great indoor swimming pool that faces the ocean. I haven't been there in a while but they used to have a great ocean bar called Ocean Annie's. It is in a great area with little traffic. Have fun and please do an updated review when you come back. You are not to far from Hoskins on main street of No. MB Pickyou up a cd of Carolina Beach Music at Judy's , near Hoskins , to remember your great times. Go check out the dancing at the shag clubs. shaggy (PS-- how do you think I got my nickname? )

Re: Sands Ocean Club ???

Even though I have owned there since 1988, I couldn't give you any info. We bought the week strictly for trading and haven't even been back to MB at all. Sorry.
