We have been called a few times by the12buy and now they are calling saying they have a buyer for our RCI points. They are saying that these people will buy at 01p a point. I smell a bit of a rat. Anyone know of or dealt with these people.

No, No experience with them. But pick up some closing companies and tell them they can pick one from your list, they have to send money to this closing company you picked, and you will have your signed deed send to this company too. Never send them any money to make deal. If they send you some contract ask you to sign, make sure there is no clause where you pay them in front, and there is a time limit when this deal will be void (like x days if your closing company does not receive anything from the buyer) and your contract with them will be void.

...and of course they require a deposit up front !
The #1, #2 and #3 rules at TUG are "Never pay an upfront fee (excluding nominal $15-$40 single listing fees) in an effort to sell your timeshare!" There has never been a confrmed sale here that resulted from paying such a fee.

For practical advice for successfully selling your timeshare, study the "how to sell" article located at the top of the list of topics for this Buying, Selling, Renting forum.

Thanks Dave,
Since I have challenged them on their practices and said that no-one would ever send money up front (!!!) on one of these deals and that I was using the forum, they have left me alone. Thanks for the advice about the buying and selling post.
Weegee.
