Would the 1 in 4 Rule apply to Grand Pacific Resorts in Southern California for Extra Vacations or just regular exchanges?

We want to accommodate 2 different family members at separate resorts that are 3 weeks apart. Is this possible with guest certificates?

Thanks

I believe it is only for regular exchanges but you need to read the fine print that is included with the EV's....and you can always call RCI and ask them the same thing. Let us know what you find out.

Open-Road,

I am surprised to learn that Grand Pacific Resorts does apply the one-in-four rule to Extra Vacations. However, consecutive weeks or multiple units should not be a problem.

Does the 1-in-4 year rule apply to the Lawrence welk villas resort chain as well???

For Extra Vacations or Just exchanges??

Thanks

Open-Road,

The one-in-four rule for Welk Resorts is applied as a group (1540, 5663, and 2318). However, it does not apply to Extra Vacations, Last Call, Bonus Weeks, etc. It applies only to one-for-one exchanges.

Does the 1 in 4 Rules for Grand Pacific Resorts apply to Last Calls as well?

Grand Pacific Resorts used to have exceptions for 1 in 4 rule for GPP owners, points owners, and consecutive weeks or multiple units. However, I noticed points owners were eliminated from this exceptions recently. Can you explain its reason? thanks.

ahmo,

The one-in-four rule would apply to any surplus program if it applies to Extra Vacations. Last Call would also not be an option.

TUG101,

The one-in-four rule does not apply to Points transactions. Keep in mind that a Weeks exchange, even if you're using points, is considered to be a Weeks transaction.

what if RCI confirms you for a resort that breaks the 1 in 4 rule?? We just grabed a last minute (7 days out) but had one at a sister property reserved for 9 months out.. They are both GPR. If RCI allowed the booking are we ok, or is there a chance they would deny our vacation in 9 months.???

You probably won't like my answer for this one. If RCI allowed you to confirm it when it should not have been allowed, RCI will not be held responsible and RCI or the resort can cancel your reservation when the mistake has been discovered.

I wouldn't chance getting there and being denied at check-in.

davenlib,

If an exchange is confirmed in error to a resort that enforces the one-in-four rule, it will likely be discovered and canceled later. If you aren't sure of the resort's policy, call to verify it with a Guide.
