Churning Frequent Flyer miles with BofA VISA

I have a BofA VISA associated with USAir Dividend Miles and have been getting checks in the mail separately and with my monthly bill. These checks earn one mile for every dollar spent with no balance transfer or check fees. They do have a relatively low 5.5% variable interest rate but that's not the point.

If you are signed up to pay your bill online you can write a check for a little less than your credit limit, deposit it to your chacking account, wait for it to clear, then pay the VISA bill online from your checking account as soon as your bank clears the check. You pay minimal interest if you time it well and get the miles for almost nothing.

There may well be other BofA affinity cards that you can do this with other airlines.

Isnt that considered a cash advance with a fee to go along with it?

I'd consider doing this with my BofA FF visa too.

Yes, and there are skads of peple over on flyertalk who have done it. There's supposedly a 20,000 mile limit but many have gotten more than that.
