RCI 1932 - Presidential Resort in Virginia

I have an opportunity to stay in a Two Bedroom Cabin in Virginia
Has anyone been to Presidential Resort in Spotsylvania recently?

Re: RCI 1932 - Presidential Resort in Virginia

Was there 2 years ago. Cabins are quite nice, maybe 3.5 stars out of 5; but public facilities shared by campers were dirty. Good access to Civil War Battlefields and sites, Fredricksburg etc.
I have audio tapes for Spotsylvannia battle sites. If you want them, email me and I will send them to you.

we own there--good and bad

love the cabins--and the area surrouding the cabins--nice lake, great pool, esp. for kids. BUT---you drive thru some really tacky RV type lots to get there. They sold both "camp clubs"--where they belong to a network of campgrounds and you pay to join club and then stya at one of them. ANd I think that they also sold actual parcels of land that some people camp on and others actually leave a RV all year long--there are quite tacky parts. THink Chevey CHase movie.
ANd, unufortunately, it is at the front. But once you drive past to the cabins, it's a whole difference story. Few RVers or campers go over to the cabin area/ or use the pool there. We go several times in the summer for day use and have a blast.
WE find it very fun (but a big change from the atmosphere of our GC hilton head vacations). THey have great activities for kids--bon fire, etc. Very good fishing with boats to rent--and the cabins are quite nice and peaceful.

we stayed at cabin in spring, its best at ski time however, but it was relaxing, and lots to see near by. civil war buffs would enjoy. plus good shopping near.
