Hi All,

Could use some advice….

We’ve deposited our 1BR Marriott Maui with II and have an ongoing trade request for Westin St John next spring – 2007. Realizing that this is a stretch and that time is running out to utilize Continental frequent flier miles, we’d like to expand our request to include other fine Caribbean destinations. Unfortunately, our experiences are limited to Bahamas (Harbourside) and Aruba ( Marriott) and we’d like to go to a different island.

Ideally, we’d be trading into a beachfront resort where our three boys (currently 6, 4, and 7mos) can enjoy the surf and a nice pool atmosphere.

While flying direct from Newark would be a plus, my primary concern now is whether we’re going to have occupancy issues (since we’re now a family of 5) at the Westin or any alternate location that you all might recommend should we trade into a 1 BR. (I’d like to think that I can sneak one of three kids in!)

Our knowledge pertaining to Caribbean II affiliated resorts is limited, but based on the review section of TUG, I’m thinking of adding Royal Palm Beach Simpson Bay to our request.

Any thoughts ? ( I know I need to think about trading up to a 2 BR!) or suggestions ?

As always, thanks in advance for your help.

If your going to ST Maarten my 1st pick would be Flamingo!!:whoopie:
Great pool, 2 beaches & the resort is in a good area. Then Royal Islander Club La Plage (great beach & airport isn't a big deal.) Then I would do Royal Palm! All 3 are great resorts but Royal Palm has the least favorite beach. I don't like it at all! Oyster Bay is far from most of the good places to eat but very nice resort just out my it's self! Out of the II book these are the only ones I would stay at!! But that is what I think!

We were in St. Martin and stayed at Oyster Bay this March with our 2 boys, ages 5 & 7. It was fantastic and perfect for kids. They had a blast in the pool and on the beach, very kid friendly. We didn't find the distance to any place on the island a problem. Traffic can be bad during rush hour but never really a "problem". We saw some other resorts and I would say Oyster was the nicest and had the best beach/snorkeling. However, each day we did explore ALL the beaches on the island and found some that were super child friendly, the water was like a bath not a ripple or any tide! St. Martin is a great family island and has something for everyone!
