Amex Gold & Green May 1-June30 Double Points Bonus & Delta Amex Triple Bonus

Once again, there is a double points promo for Gold and Green cards. You must enroll first. There is another promo for Delta Amex triple miles bonus that I did not qualify for, but maybe others will:

I think this might be a scam!

First of all the web address is www.109.americanexpress, rather than www.americanexpress and they are asking for your 4 digit security number on the card.

Why would they need it? I think it is a scam to get the 4 digit numbers to go with a valid cc number.

I don't think these are scams - every double bonus fofer I've signed up for in the past had the same kind of login.

Exactly...every bonus that I have signed up for and was confirmed as being enrolled in has resulted in the stated bonus. Amex always asks for the 4 digit security code on your code when you sign up for a bonus promotion.

I got a postcard from Delta Amex that took me to that sight, so its definitely not a scam. It may be a targeted offer.

Two things. First, the security code for Amex cards are on the front of the card and not the back like MC and VIsa cards. Second, you absolutely do not have to register by April 30th to be eligible. I have done these promos many times. When you enroll, if you qualify, you will get both a screen and a follow-up e-mail saying that you qualify. I registered on the day I posted and got both. While you can register anytime during the promo, you will only get double points on purchases made after you register for the promo.

While it is targeted, many of us qualify yet have never received a promo in the mail.

It's targeted. The wording on that link says that it is only for "solicited" members. I had never heard of this offer (and I've gotten many others for double or 20% additional), tried it at the link provided above and was rejected. So it's definitely only for those who they have directly offered it to.

You may be correct, but when I have had to give the security code on my green amex card, it has been the 3 digit number in the signature line on the back of my Amex card, which I am looking at right now. Just did it Thursday or Friday with my monthly online posting service.

I realize there are new, rolling offers every month, when I clicked into the latest version of these in the lower box in italics or different typeset was a 4/30/06 disclaimer.

There are ways around these things frequently if you are persistent, I was just offering the facts as I know them.
