Question Help me figure this out

While sniffing around Orbitz, I stumbled upon this link: http://press.expedia.com/index.php?s...eases&item=284

It basically says that out of the top 10 hotels in the US a timeshare, yes a timeshare, made the top 10! The timeshare is Westgate at Park City Link: http://www.westgateresorts.com/index...GATE_PARK_CITY

I find this impossible and question how hotel oriented folks find a timeshare their cup of tea? Most hotel folks I know want daily maid service and room service, and I guess the Westgate could offer this. I just smell a dead fish here.

Here is the Trip Advisor ratings: http://www.tripadvisor.com/HACSearch...23&showall=yes

The Westgate ranks #13 in Park City, behind the AAA 4 Diamond Grand Summit Resort Hotel at #7. Our little old Park Plaza is #2 behind a B&B which has 4 rooms I believe.

So what in the world is going on here? I've toured the Westgate and it's nice - but in the league of the top 10 hotels in the US - come on.

Could it be that not only do the timeshare developers hand out free gifts to prospective clients but they hand out gifts to reviewing folks too? (Would a timeshare developer stoop that low? Hmmm...)

Question Does not compute

Dave, thanks for the link.

I’ve toured EVERY timeshare in Park City and many hotels – the Westgate is certainly not even close to the Miner’s Club (Nicest timeshare in Park City) or the Grand Summit (Full service hotel 25' from the main gondola at The Canyons). I just can’t imagine how a timeshare makes the list of hotels?

The Grand Summit Hotel (Link: http://www.thecanyons.com/conf/overview.aspx ) was host for Katie and Matt and the NBC's Today show during the 2002 Winter Olympics and is a full service 4 Diamond hotel (Only one of two in Park City).

“Does not compute” keeps ringing in my head.
