If your traveling this weekend, starting Friday evening, through Sunday morning, and are heading either north, or south on Rte 95 on a path that would take you through Northern VA, it is advisable to plan an alternate route.
Traffic Advisory from the local NBC TV website: Drivers are advised to avoid the Mixing Bowl this weekend because of scheduled construction. Starting Friday, the ramp between Interstate 395 South and the Inner Loop of the Beltway will be closed. Construction will start at 9 p.m. Friday. Work crews will clear out of the area at about 10 a.m. Sunday. Drivers heading to Interstate 495 North will be detoured to Interstate 95 South to Exit 166, Newington/Fairfax County Parkway to turn around back onto I-395 North to Exit 170B toward Tysons Corner. The 10-mile detour could add 30 minutes to their trip. The Exit 170B ramp will be reduced from two lanes to one for the closure of one Inner Loop lane in the Springfield interchange area.
