Shall I skip Rocky Mt NP?

On cross country trip from VA, I'm thinking of visiting Bad Lands/Rushmore, Teton, Glacier, Yosemite, Grand Canyon. I read what other say about Rocky Mt NP, but see it to be 500 south of the Rushmore to Teton route.

I'll drive 8000 miles as planned, but don't wish to pass up something great.

Are the vistas in RMNP anywhere close to those in Teton or Glacier?

How's the route from RMNP to Teton?

Unless you plan to be back in the area again, add a few days and take in Rocky Mt. Nat'l Park. Think what it would cost you to come that way again at a later date.

On the other hand, you have an ambitious trip planned. It sounds as if it may be one of those "See 10 European countries in 5 days" type trips.

We made the mistake in our younger travel days of trying to see too much in too short a time. As we aged, we found we enjoyed it more to take it slower, perhaps see less per trip, but really enjoy that which we did do.

Spend more time in the Tetons and Glacier. It's not worth the extra miles. If you want a real treat, take an extra 5 hours and head north into the Canadian Rockies. The views are even more spectacular than Colorado. I forget the route, but it takes you right through the rockies into Banff.
Even without the detour into Canada, you won't miss out on much by not going to Colorado. The Rockies are beautiful, but the same comparable beauty can be seen in the Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier.
Don't drive the extra 500.
