How Many Points Should I Get?

We are a family of 4 looking a purchasing our first timeshare. We are considering buying a RCI points timeshare.

We want to vacation 2 weeks a year at different resorts (2 bedroom) most likely on the East/South East Coasts and in Florida in the summer.

1.) What point range should we be looking at buying into to be able to achieve this?

2.) Is there usually availibility of Last Call resorts in the summer?

3.) We were looking at the weeks exchange grid. Are the points values reflective of both point resorts or just weeks resorts? I currently see a couple of Orlando 2bdrm resorts on E-bay with 92,000 points. The weeks grid has a Florida 2bdrm at 57,500 points.

Thanks in advance for your advice

I am not sure RCI will answer your questions since they do not own anything, they just exchange. There are a million threads in here about points and how to purchase weeks to get the most value. This would allow you to collect the most points at the cheapest cost and least maintenance fees.

Unless you have a desire to own in the US, I would consider some of the points resorts in South Africa and other foreign nations. They are sometimes the most efficient in gathering points.

Duck,

You should also consider Bluegreen and Fairfield. Both point systems have a lot of resorts in the areas you are considering.
