International Maintenace Fee Payment Suggestion
I own a couple of timeshare units in Scotland and feel like I am getting raped by my credit card company when they add their charges on top of my purchase. Last year it was almost 3 percent for the exchange fee.
Anyone have a suggestion on the best way to pay maintenace fees in GBP when you live in the United States? |

Re: International Maintenace Fee Payment Suggestion
I own in Europe and South Africa and have owned in Australia. One resort does not take credit cards, and I have used wire transfers, which are expensive. I prefer the cc's. If I happen to be in that country at the right time of the year, I can go pay in euros are their bank, which is the best bet.
Unfortunately, I was told that their bank had a branch at Schipol airport and planned to use that one year, but on finding that branch learned it no longer had cash facilities, so I went home with a pocket full of euros. |
