Question & Answer Answered On

Q: would the deeded week have to be converted to points?? thx
Jul-20-06
A: no, it is already in the points system no conversion costs would be necessary.

Q: Hi, I am currently a Bluegreen owner. Would these points be combined with my currently owned points?
Jul-20-06
A: yes these would combine with what you currently own and possibly depending upon how many pts you own could move you up into the silver/gold/platinum status w/bluegreen

Q: Hi, Is this a UDI? What part of the resort is this deeded? What is the unit number on the deed? Thx
Jul-14-06
A: This is a deed to unit # CT387 Week 1 with a Bluegreeen Assignment of Owner Beneficiary Rights detailing the 12,000 points

Bruce (and any other Bluegreen UDI gurus here), I am confused on the difference between "pure" UDIs and "blended" UDIs that have Bluegreen points associated with them.

I understand how pure UDIs work. What does one lose (in terms of the ability to make multiple reservations) when getting a blended UDI? One listing I saw said , I think, that the blended UDI provides the Bluegreen points, one blue reservation per year (rather than one at a time), one white reservation per year (rather than one at a time), and a red reservation within 90 days of check-in (can't remember if that was one per year, or one at any time.) Is this correct?

On a "Pure" CMV UDI" at anyone time you are allowed to have the following reservations for your unit ownership. 1 Redweek week and any combination of 2 white and Blueweeks. If you have those 3 weeks reserved on your account then you can book a 4th flex reservation of any color as long as it is with in 45 days or less of the day that you are booking. Once the check in date passes on any of the weeks you can book another week in its place.

On a "Blended CMV UDI Cottage" like the one above similar the the "Blended CMV UDI Oak Timbers" I won on ebay last week there are a few important differances.

First your Bluegreen Points can be used to book a week at any Bluegreen Resort. On the 3 UDI weeks one can be a RED week reserved 90 days or less at CMV in a Cottage. The 2 white or Blue weeks can be booked in a CMV Cottage up to 1 full year out. There is no 4th flex reservation. Once one of the 3 UDI weeks pass then you can book another week of the same color with in the same guidelines.

IMHO and based on my 6 years of experiance you can book about 3 to 6 more yearly reservations with a pure CMV UDI in comparison to a CMV Blended UDI. Two or 3 of those Pure extra reservation would be red weeks.

The Blended advantages is that you are a remember of the Bluegreen Club and can rent at all of the Bluegreen resorts from about $39 to $59 per night.
The yearly BG Points can be booked up to 11 months out before check in date at any Bluegreen Resort.

All of the reservations are based on availability.

The main differances between the CMV UDI Cottages and the CMV UDI Oak Timbers are, that all the Oak Timbers has 2 bathrooms and most the Cottages have one bathroom. The Oak Timbers is larger and has free golfing and ski hill passes and the Cottages do not have the free golf and ski passes.

Thanks, Bruce!

So, with a blended UDI you can still get multiple weeks per year, but red weeks can only be booked 90 days out and instead of having a total of 4 flex reservations, you have 3 flex reservations and a set of Bluegreen points. Is that correct? (I don't know whether the pure UDIs let one book blue and white weeks more than 1 year out, but I doubt I'd be interested in booking offseason weeks that far out anyway.)

Judy, you are indeed correct on the 3 flex Blended CMV UDI reservations. One thing on the 2 non Red reservations is that they can be the following combinations.

(1) 1 white and one blue reservations
(2) 2 white reservations
(3) 2 blue reservations

Note that I am saying reservations as some reservations we have made were not available for a full week, as these were not for exchanging but for us to go up to CMV or to rent out.

I also agree with you on booking non red reservations that far out would be a waste of other reservations that could have been booked for exchanges, rentals, etc.

Thanks very much, Bruce!

By the way, how did you know that this was a UDI? Was it the MF? (I see that the seller never answered the question of whether it was a UDI or not.)

I wish I could have bid on this, but DH is currently out of work and I shouldn't be dropping $5k on timeshare #7.

Judy, you are correct about the Maintenance fees.
