Colonial Williamsburg
Hi, I was wondering if it is worth buying the ticket to get into the other buildings at Colonial Williamsburg?
Thanks, Paul ![]() |

Re: Colonial Williamsburg
Paul,
it really depends on whether you are interested in what is inside the buildings. I can't tell you what you like or dislike, but I think that it is worth it at least once. Now, don't take that as advice to buy a ticket. Go to Colonial Williamsburg and walk around without buying anything. Get some literature (free) like the daily activities log for CW (available everywhere|). Then after you've done some looking around and reading, you may want to get a ticket, or maybe you'll be all Colonialed out. Either way, you haven't risked anything except for a few hours walking through the area. Hope that helps. |

laso-you can get tickets to separate events
you can get ticket to special event--dancing lecture and instruction (really interesting--even for my husband), theater performances, etc. that don't require colonial wllmbg ticket--so you could walk around and then get $8 ticket or so to special event. And you still have to have the special ticket for events, even if you bought wllmbg ticket.
You certainly get the "flavor" of colonial wllmbg without buying a ticket--plus there are several gardens and houses that you can go in free (post office, several houses that contain perid shops, etc.)--what you won't get it the guides to tell you about everything--but you can pretty much figure it out. I agree, go and walk around (you can easily spend several hours)--if you want more in depth--then get a ticket for a different day. |

Re: Colonial Williamsburg
Tickets for Colonial Williamsburg are expensive, but well worth the $. That is one of my very favorite places.
