Marriott goes non-smoking

Starting in Sept, all 2300 company managed and franchised properties across all 10 of Marriotts brands are going to be completely smoke free.

It seems this is the new trend. Back in January all 77 Westin properties in the US,Canada and the Caribbean went non smoking. As of May 1, Sandals and Beaches resorts also went non smoking.

This trend is likely to keep spreading. I think its great.

Re: Marriott goes non-smoking

See this thread for a discussion of Marriott's announcement.

It appears as though smoking polices at Marriott timeshares will be left to the individual HOAs to leave as is or revise. The announcement excluded MVCI from the list of Marriott brands covered by the new policy.
