I am taking 2 teens that aren't mine to Cancun. It states that I need a notorized letter with permission from the parents. Anyone have a sample document.

Just google "Permission to Travel." You will probably also need the parents to sign a letter that shows that you are able to make decisions for the minors in case of a medical emergency. That letter should mention any serious health concerns--the one I do for my DD has ALLERGIC TO PENICILLIN in big letters on it.

PS be sure to also have the parents sign a medical care letter which like the one below which gives you the right to authorize medical care.

The authorizations should be notarized AND embossed with the notary's seal. In addition, I strongly advise that both teens have valid passports. Good luck.

Yes, YES!! Pay attention to Jim!
They are very sticky about children
traveling without parents.
Even if it's one parent, they still
have to have notorized permission
from the other! It's not worth the
hassel etc. not to have the proper documents.

By all means secure the proper documents. FIW, we took two of our daughters friends with us to Cancun recently. They had the notarized consent forms and birth certificates. They didn't even request the consent forms and the birth certificate was just fine.

Permission letters for travel and medical(notrozed and sealed)
Insurance info
And their dirvers licenses

So you think if they are already making me crazy when we go through immigration, I should accidenlty loose these docs?

I usually make photo copies of all documents, including the passport and keep them separated from the originals.

Just one clarification - Notarys are not required to have a raised seal in NY State. We use a stamp that indicates all the required information.
