Continental Ending Privilege Packs

Continental is ending the Privilage Pack program on August 15th for US members. I thought that these packs were a good deal. I was able to use the companion ticket several times without any problems. One pass members were allowed to purchase the following:

Executive Pack (USD $95.95)
- 5,000 OnePass Bonus Miles
- $99 Continental Airlines Companion Ticket
- Complimentary President's Club Passes (2)
- Other discounts

Prestige Pack (USD $135.95)
- 7,500 OnePass Bonus Miles
- $99 Continental Airlines Companion Ticket
- $25/$50/$100 Off Roundtrip Airfare
- Complimentary President's Club Passes (2)
- Presidents Club Initiation Fee Waiver
- Leather document holder and luggage tag
- Complimentary 3-Month Subscription to InsideFlyer
- Other discounts

Travel Area: Valid within Mainland U.S., Alaska and Canada
Travel Restrictions/Blackout Dates: Valid in conjunction with any published adult fare. Open jaws, stopovers and circle trips are permitted provided the rules of the paid fare allow it
Min/Max Stay: Saturday night stay is required
Upgrades:Upgrades of any type are not permitted for the companion traveler
Changes/Refunds: Permitted if the rules of the paid fare allow it, but the certificate can not be redeposited
Transferability: Certificate may be transfered to someone with the same surname, maiden name or mailing address as the OnePass member.
Other Key Restrictions: Companion must travel on same exact itinerary as the fare-paying customer, and must be ticketed at the same time. Offer does not apply to tickets that have already been purchased

Are there limits to how many one Onepass account may purchase?

I thought it was one year from the date you purchased your last one, but it may be one per calendar year. I tried to buy one before a year and was not allowed.

They did but those were pretty useless since you had to upgrade at the airport and most FC seats are already taken by Elite members

I got upgraded so many times with them it was ridiculous. You could call in a certain number of days ahead and then they'd not collect them at the counter, used them over and over. One time used them for upgrade all the way to South America and they were supposed to be CONUS or lower 48 only, but that's a whole 'nother story.
