Not sure of the protocol of this BB so I bare with me. I want to sell my timeshare in Mexico {name of resort deleted}I just want to make a few grand and dump it. It is a great place but I have moved out of the region. Studio/1 bdrm, high season, $650 maint, 1 week. Place has two restaurants and two pools. It also includes 1 golf membership w/ unlimited golf for that week. What are some sites to consider using other than TUG? Any suggestions on a price, is $4000-5000 too much? Has anyone had experience with Timeshares Only? Thanks for any help. A big novice.

I deleted the name of the resort so that this would not be an ad, but a request for information on how to sell a timeshare week. Karen G

First, you are not allowed to name your unit, it's considered an ad, so a moderator soon will delete that. Second, yes $4,000-$5,000 is too much. A Cabo studio, during peak season, is probably more likely to sell around $800-$1,700, if you're lucky.

For comparibles, watch Ebay's completed auctions.

HOC is right, you will be lucky to get $1K or $2K..

Also check Tug classifieds, redweek and myresortnetwork

Never pay an upfront fee (more than $50.00) to sell, no matter what they tell you.

I think Timeshares Only charges something like $800. We were looking at one they have for sale but the seller wanted us to pay their fee.

We didn't buy it.

For help on how to successfully sell your week without getting scammed, read the "how to sell" article located at the top of the list of topics for this Buying, Selling, Renting forum.

timeshare only charges anywhere from $750 up to $2k depending on the price of the unit. I recently purchased one from someone that had there unit listed for over a year they finally dropped it to $100 and I purchased it.

There are quite a few that I am interested in but would never buy because of the high fees.
