Nassau hotel 1 nt. in Feb.

Please help me with suggestions for a hotel for one night near the airport in Nassau (Paradise Island?) for Feb. 9. We are spending a week with friends in a condo on Paradise Island beginning Feb. 10 but FF tickets are available for Feb. 9 only. We don't need much, just a room.
Thanks for your help.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for a night and it was nice. Walking distance to restaurants. Jan

We will be staying on Paradise Island. Is the Holiday Inn far from there? We've never been to the Bahamas before. How do you get to Paradise Island from the Nassau airport and from the Holiday Inn?
Thanks!

Try the Buena Vista, an old British colonial mansion from the 1790's built by a Speaker of the Legislative Assembly that is best known for its restaurant but has 5 hotel rooms upstairs in the mansion for very reasonable prices. Some of them are actually 2 room suites. It is closer to the airport than you are on Paradise Island, but not that much. The closest hotels to the airport would be at Cable Beach.

Taxis are the only way to get back and forth to the airport.

Resorts: Wapato Point (C1 & N2 Tennis) Sandy Shores III Looking for another!!!
Crystal Palace on Cable Beach will probably give you the best rate and it's pretty close to the airport. I would also recommend it because you will get an opportunity to see the area before it is totally transformed into this

Hotel Recommendations for Nassau

Here are 2 recommendations in Paradise Island:

We stayed at the Best Western Bay View Villas in July for one night. The rooms are larger rooms (suites) with a complete kitchen. Everyone was really nice and it worked out well. There are stairs so if you have any handicapped individuals in your party, this may not work out well.

If you want to use the Atlantis pools and slides for a day, I'd recommend the Comfort Suites. They are right next door to Atlantis.

As with any hotels in Nassau, be prepared to pay extra fees and taxes. I think we paid over $30 for cleaning fees and taxes.

Thanks for all your help. I'm still not clear about what to do. We may decide to purchase tickets instead of using ff miles and not have the extra night to pay for on each end of our trip. I appreciate your help. As always, TUG comes through for me!
