Mountain Estates at Smuggler's Notch

We are searching for a resort in northern Vermont for next spring and request some information from you guys. Does Mountain Estates at Smuggler's Notch have elevators? How many floors here?

Do any buildings in its sister property Smuggler's Notch have elevators? How many floors are in these buildings?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Mountain Estates

Mountain Estates and Smugglers Notch are the same resort. The Mountain Estates units refer to the newer fractional units. The RCI codes are 0300 for Smugglers Notch and 7576 for Mountain Estates. The units in Mountain Estates (which, BTW, is just a term used in RCI - Smugglers doesn't use that term) tend to be somewhat larger and a little more luxurious. For example, units may have granite counters/higher ceilings/large screen TVs.

The layout of the building will differ depending on the building. Buildings on the West Hill and the North Hill have 3 floors - the walk-in level, an upper floor and a lower floor. All of these are built into the side of the mountain, so at the back of the units, or looking down the mountain, the lower level is ground level, walk-in is one floor up and the upper floor is 2 floors up. These buildings do not have elevators.

Buildings in the village and the highlands may differ from this layout. I think that one of the buildings in the village which has more than 3 levels has an elevator.

In general, you should not expect to walk more than one floor up or down to your unit.

If you get an exchange into Smugglers, ask the VC for the unit number which will be up to two letters and up to two numbers. The VC will have no idea what the unit is, but post it here and one of us Smuggs people will be able to tell you, which building it's in, what floor it's on and what type of amenities you should expect within and near the building.

Thanks. I do have another question. I read that there is a $275 activities fee. Does everyone have to pay this. We mostly plan to use the resort as a resting point while we visit the area.

at least three buildings in the village have elevators in addition to the units around the property which are walkin/out/ on the ground floor.

as for the activities fee, you said you were planning to go in spring.
i can't imagine a fee being asked as most activities will not be running. There should be an enclosed pool available for use for no fee.

You won't have to pay an activities fee in the Spring...it is low season and there isn't much going on. (However, do get to Stowe for some great shopping!)

I know that our building, Balsams, is in the village, has three floors, and an elevator. However, I don't think I've ever seen an exchange available into it as it is a small building with only nine units. In the spring, though, there will probably be tons available and you will have a broad choice.

Sharon

P.S. Oaks, which is in the village, also has an elevator.

The $275 SmuggsPass is always optional. It only applies during winter (approx. weeks 51-13) and summer (approx. weeks 23-35). It gets you certain discounts on some activities and free admission to other activities. If the discounts or admissions don't work for your family, don't buy it. For families with 2 or more children who want to go to the camps, it generally is worthwhile.
