Massanutten

My Family and my sister-in-law's Family are staying at the Summit at Massanutten on 8/25 - 9/1.

I have a few questions that I hope someone could answer:

Are the shows in the evening ok for young children (i.e. is there blue language, etc)?

What are some good places to eat near the resort? We are from NJ, so we would love some good southern food or BBQ, but we don't want to go to a dump either.

We plan on visiting Luray Caverns. Are there any other attractions worth a visit that young children would enjoy?

Thanks for your help.

Joe

Joe, go look at the resort reviews for the condos in Massanutten. There is lots of info there.

My daughters love magic. Ever since I made their sippy cups disappear and repear on the other side of the table, they are obsessed with Magic ("Its magic!")

I will take them to that show.

Joe, I have never been to anything that I found offensive and I am an old fashioned prude. When we went in June with our grandchildren, they even were very careful about the songs people were allowed to sing on karaoke night.

We ate at a bbq that is on the left as you leave Massanutten and reach the highway. Don't eat there. Ours was awful. I have heard that there was a good one if you turned right.

There is a little town a few miles away (turn left at the highway as you leave Massanutten) that has a resturant that serves southern food. It is called Roosters. You will see it advertised in the papers they give you on check in. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of the town. I looked for my Massanutten info and can't find it.

I will email you more info if I find it.

Hank's Smokehouse just west of the resort comes highly recommended. Also suggest the buffet restaurant at the waterpark. You do not need to pay an entry fee for the water park in order to eat there.

I forgot about the buffet at the waterpark. We and our grandchildren loved it. It was very resonably priced for lunch.
