Depositing RCI "weeks" unit into a points account

I'm considering buying a unit that is a RCI "weeks" resort, but the seller says that the week can be deposited into my points account.

Are they telling me the truth?

Is there a fee for making the deposit of a "weeks' unit into my points account?

Should I check with RCI first? Will they even talk to me about this?

Anything else I should know before considering this purchase?

Yes, you can

As long as the resort is in RCI weeks and hasn't signed on to RCI Points they are telling you the truth. You can use "Points for Deposit" at a cost of $26 per week deposited. You can find the points value you'll receive in the charts in your points directory.
