Airfare to Hawaii from Toronto/Buffalo Area
Hi tuggers,
My family and I will be travelling to Hawaii in March 07 for 2 weeks and I was looking for some advice on airfare. We will be staying at Panioli Greens, Waikoloa. When is the best time to purchase airline tickets ? What price range are we looking at ? Where is the best price close to my area-Toronto/Buffalo/Detroit...? Any advice is appreciated...Thanks in Advance...Roz |

You can check out WestJet departing from Toronto. Of course it will connect out of Vancouver.

Hawaii flights
We fly to Hawaii annually, and live in Southwestern Ontario. I always have the best luck with pricing out of Detroit. Toronto is always so much higher. I don't usually check Buffalo, so I don't know if it is better or not.
Depending when in March you are going you might be looking at prime time, as it is March break/spring break time from mid March to mid April. If the seats fill up early you will not get a seat sale or cheaper flight closer to departure. I would start looking 9 months out and if you find a really good fare ($600 or less) book it. I have also used an ebay seller called "Points of Light Foundation". She has flights on AA from the mainland to Hawaii for a flat fee of $1500 US for 2 people (ebay item #320014418347). I used her to book 4 of us to the Big Island this past summer and to book 2 of us to Maui & Kaui this coming January. Good luck! |

How reliable is West Jet? Do they experience a fair amount of delayed or cancelled flights since they are a charter company? They are about $200 cheaper per ticket compared to leaving out of Buffalo. I, too, am trying to find a fare below $750 which is what I see now for the beginning of next summer. Any other suggestions?

WestJet is not a charter company - they are one of our better airlines IMO with a business model mirroring Southwest. I love flying Westjet.
