Son in law is going on an 8 month tour in Kuwait. My question is around getting them a set-up so they can see and talk to each other through the PC.

Any advice on an efficient, not too expensive set-up?

All you need is a computer (probably with a USB port), a cheap cam (as low as $15) and a service that will allow the cam connection. Yahoo, MSN or AOL or something similar. You can use a laptop or desktop. The faster the computer and the connection the better the cam will work. Also get one with a mic obviously.
