Are You Concerned about Someone's Online Gambling?

This young man could have had it all. There are many teens/college kids that get caught up in online gambling especially when they are away from home for the first time. It's a long story but well worth reading.

Edited to add: Hogan was just sentenced to 22 months-10 years in state prison

The one comment by Hogan that really irritates me is "Since then, I've come to realize that I have been wired to become a compulsive gambler since birth.'' i.e. It's not my fault!
If that kind of defence is accepted we might as well unlock all the prisons and let them all out. Every defence in the world will be the same "My genes made me do it".
When are people going to accept personal responsibility for their actions? There are millions of people in debt, but very few of them take such drastic steps to sort it out.
I very good friend of mine suffers from OCD. It took a long time to diagnose, but once it was he worked hard to control it rather than being controlled by it. He could quite easily have taken the 'wired wrong' route and expected the world to take pity on him.

Totally agree with you! Many things may be passed through the genes, but that doesn't mean you can't overcome.
