Does anyone know of a reasonable hotel in Boston. Everything I see is $400
or better a night. Any suggestions appreciated. Would consider staying on outskirts but prefer downtown Boston.
Thank you.

The T system is so good that I wouldn't may high prices to be right downtown personally. I've stayed at the Marriott Copley Place, which was very nice, but I like the Residence Inn in Cambridge just as well.

cambridge b&B

try the Cambridge house bed and breakfast inn, 2218 Mass Ave, Cambridge... no# 617-491-6300.....also the John Jeffries House, 14 Embankment Road, Beacon Hill... 617-367-1866.. friends stayed there years ago. It used to be an eye and ear infirmary and is now 44 rooms for B&B... under 200 .

Last week I spent 5 days at the Hotel@MIT, a 4* property. Rack rate $279...Priceline $95!!!!

It's the only way to go..bid 4 star and be a llittle flexible and you will save 110's of dollars.

I agree with Susan that Priceline is the way to go in Boston as long as the area of the city doesn't matter too much and you don't have need for a room that MUST accommodate several people. Priceline bids guarantee a room for two, usually with a king or queen bed. Some of the hotels in Boston but not many - particularly in downtown Boston - that do not have two double beds in their rooms. I've stayed in several of the 3 to 4 star hotels in the Copley area with Priceline for $75 to $125 a night.

I repeatedly get the Airport Hilton in the 4* category for between $80 and $90 a night. This week was difficult. I had to go up to $130, but I got the Financial District Hilton, which is just fine for me. I'm staying there as I type this. Priceline is the way to go unless you see some special at a hotel.

my wife and i love staying at the residence in at Tudor Wharf. Its very reasonable and right next door to old ironsides about 3 min walk to the T
