Extending Right of Use?

I'm in the process of purchasing at the Imperial Fiesta club at Casa Maya in Cancun. I got it real cheap because it has only 10 yrs left. What is the usual cost with extending right to use? Is it something that can be negotiated at a presentation when I visit or are they usually a flat non negotiable fee?

I wouldn't worry about extending your RTU until you have stayed at the resort a couple of times. You might find out that 10 years might be enough time for you with that timeshare. I see you own a couple of other resorts also. It never hurts to see what the extension would cost, but you can probably buy another week resale for alot less. I'm sure upon your first visit to your resort they will want you to buy something or upgrade that is when they will tell you pricing.

One of our guests recently mentioned something about their Mexican resort having an offer to extend their RTU, for a fee, of course.

They were pretty much chuckling, referring to it as obligation to pay, rather than RTU, and they had to pay to get the obligation to pay!

I think the biggest chuckle will be when I hear what their offer would be. I wont pay more than what I am paying for it on ebay now. I look at it as they need the yearly maintenance fee coming in.
