Myrtle Beach Weather Experts out there ?

"Official" websites state that max day temperature in Myrtle Beach for the last week of March should be 60-65F Would anyone be willing to dispute this prediction and to offer his/her "expert" prediction about the chances of having day temp over 70 F ? How about rainy days ? Keep in mind: No penalty for being wrong ! Thanks

As jme stated about nearby Hilton Head in another thread earlier today:

anytime at HHI is great.....could be very cold or could be quite pleasant....never predictable, even from the week before. The weatherman just looks out his window to give the prediction, just like the rest of us.
That's close to the truth. The high can easily be 80 or 55 on any given day in March. A lot depends on the wind - how strong and from what direction. Rain? March is an average month, with about 4 inches. So it might rain. Or it might not.

In general, expect sunny days with highs about 70. Just don't count on it!

You can go to Weather.com and see that the average high for all of March is 68 and for April it's 75. That means that for the last week of March expect the average or typical high to be about 70.

As Dave M noted:

I'm in MB right now, temps have been in the 60's all week, should be in the 70's.

I think it may have been warmer in MA where I live.

However, on one of the days, we walked the beach for over two hours in just shorts and tees. It was only 64 out, but being sheltered from the wind by the high rises, it felt in the 70's.

Also, no clouds, so with the sun shining straight down it was wonderful.

Next day the winds picked up, and it felt in the 60's.

Wind and cloud coverage really make a big difference.

Of course we are leaving Saturday, and the temps are returning to normal, and will be in the 70's!

However, we still have had a wonderful time, we were here to just relax, and that we did.

Plus, as I sit here and listen to the surf, sipping a glass of wine - I'm in heaven! Dosen't matter what that temp is outside right now.

On an average the temp will change 4 times a day. In March we have winds. However, things change. Just bring clothes to keep warm from the wind if you walk on the beach. Check the weather before you leave in M B. Remember, weather man be wrong. I have had Christmas down here and people were wearing shorts. The next year they were wearing Winter coats.

Resorts: Wyndham Smokey Mountains and Flagstaff (FSP). HGVC. MSW.
Well, the historic numbers indicate that it should be at least 70.

My daughter is taking the chance... I couldn't get her in ft lauderdale on the beach, so she settled for Myrtle Beach for her senior spring break vacation, march 23.
