Lodging in Lanaster Co, PA
We've spent the last three nights in a great non-timeshare hotel/inn in Lancaster County, PA. It's Leola Inn & Suites in Leola. We are three adults in a Queen Coach Suite...a huge beautifully decorated room with two queen beds and mini kitchen. We're paying $149.00 per night but needed two rooms everywhere else which added up to more than here.
Ask to be in the Lancaster building...the one where the free European Continental breakfast is served, and which has laundry, vending and workout room. There is a restaurant (Mazzi...expensive) on the premises as well as a spa and gift shop. http://www.leolavillage.com/ |

Thanks for the suggestion. We have stayed on a farm, at the Fairfield, the Courtyard, and Plain and Fancy Farm. Last trip was the Netherlands Inn and Spa- did not like that. We'll check this one out; thanks again!

Restaurants
Over the years, we've tried many of the buffet/family style restuarants in Lancaster County only to come away disappointed. Frankly, we really don't like buffets. But a Mennonite housekeeper here at the inn recommended Dienner's on Hwy 30 at Ronks (near Miller's) and after waiting half an hour for a seat, we opted for the buffet. It was the best we've tried! Everything was really fresh and good. And at a cost of $7.99 per person plus drink at lunchtime.
Our long time favorite restaurant in the area is Reflections on Oregon Rd not far from Leola Inn. We went twice this week. I had a wonderful veal dish and the bread and salad are a meal in themselves. And if you are staying nearby and want take-out wings and waffle fries, Joe's Famous Wings and Wieners is a good choice! Give them at least half an hour to prepare them whether dining in or taking out. |
