Suggestions for non-cruise excursions Mexico
We are going on a 10 Meixican Riviera cruise in November. This will be the first for our son (age 24) and second for our daughter (age 28). They are not into shopping or going to clubs and none of the cruiseline excursions look appealing to them. Does anyone have any ideas of things we could do on our own in the ports of call? Thanks for any suggestions you may have of what to do or (what not to do).

My sil and I went on a Mexican Riviera cruise last Nov. We snorkled (fun) and kayaked another day (too strenuous for me) but I bet your young'uns would enjoy it. I forget if we made ressies on the ship or on our own.

Would we just get off the ship and see who offers those activities? How do we know if it is a) safe and b) reasonable cost?

Hope this helps....
Cruisecritic.com is an absolutely great site for information. They have boards similar to these on ALL aspects of cruising. To see all their boards go to www.cruisecritic.com and click on "Boards" You will see boards for various cruise lines (where you can ask all manner of questions) for ports of departure and for ports that cruise ships stop at. People give lots of info about excursions they have taken (good and bad), where to shop, what to do etc. The thread that deals with Mexican Riviera ports is found at
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=203 You will need to read through a few pages of posts and I'm sure you will find lots of hints. People are friendly on that board too and are sure to help you if you post a question there. |

VanClan - thanks for the link it was just what I was looking for to be able to really enjoy the trip and do something other than the excursions the cruise ship offers. We even "chatted" with some people going on the same cruise and we are all going to meet for a drink-gotta love it!
