White Mountains June 2007
Planning a trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire in mid June 2007. Suggestions on Resort to stay and things to do? Also, how crowed is mid June at most of the attractions? Thanks in advance….

It seems that things really don't get crowded until the week after July 4. As to resorts, if you go thru II-Innseasons Pollard Brook or South Mountain in Lincoln are the cream of the crop. With RCI, the resorts are not as nice, and my first choice would be Grand Summit Resort Hotel-Attitash in Bartlett(and it is very hotel like with a minimum of amenities). I've also stayed at the Mountain Club at Loon(Lincoln), which was also hotel like and not quite as nice. There seems to be a lot of Gold and Silver Crowns in the area.

White Mountains
Hello,
We generally vacation in the White mountains every third week in July. We have stayed at the Suites of Eastern Slope, Attitash Mountain Village and Crown Ridge Resort. I would have to say Crown Ridge Resort is my favorite. They are two and three bedroom townhouses tucked away near Mt Cranmore but only about 5 minutes from North Conway. I actually have an exchange for this place for July '07. The unit amenities are awesome and they have a nice pool house with an indoor pool and hot tub. You should find the crowds in mid June pretty light as things are just starting to get going. Most schools in the Northeast don't let out until the last week of June so that week it really gets busy. We love the area and truly relax when we are there. There are tons of things to do if you want (ie. Storyland, Alpine Slide, Cog Railroad, Whales Tale, Santa's Village, Clarks Trading Post, Conway Scenic Railroad etc.) but we really enjoy kayaking the Saco River and fishing at the base of Mt Washington. Hope you have fun.

Laconia Motorcycle Week
We went to Lake Winnipesaukie the third week in June a few years ago, and were glad to find out that we had just missed "Laconia Motorcycle Week" the previous week. This is an annual thing where thousands of motocyclists gather in the area. As I am one for much peace and quiet, that would have driven me crazy!! I believe the week falls on June 9-17 in 2007, if that matters to you.

White Mountains
Hi,
Mid to late June is a lovely time up here! It's really before the main tourist season which does let out when the kids get out of school but there are many, many things to do depending on what you're looking for? If you want to stay in "downtown" North Conway try the Eastern Slopes Inn, Crown Ridge is a little further out of town and also nice, The Grand Summit is about 1/2 hour away from North Conway but has nice amenities - nice pool, hot tubs, work out facility, restaurant on site as well as the activities available at Attitash Mountain - water slides, alpine slide, etc. Let us know what you're looking for and I can make some recommendations. I can also recommend restaurants in the area if you don't want to cook all of your meals in your unit! Deb |

White Mtns:new Zip Line
On NH tv, I've seen the new treetop zipline that just opened in Lincoln NH. It looks like great fun; you get harnessed and attached to cables and go zipping thru treetops high above the ground. Have no idea how pricey, but looks like good fun for a family.
I'm partial to the shabby-chicness of N Conway Eastern Slopes; have only stayed inside the main inn but the newer on-site condos look really nice. From Eastern Slopes you can walk to shopping, eating, movie theater, summer theater & the N Conway scenic railroad. I just like the vibe of N Conway though there was a lot of construction there this past Aug. The main road gets very clogged during peak times but I agree that June isn't peak time yet. Have Fun! ![]() |

Resorts: Sheraton's Vistana Resort... Mountain View at Crown Ridge Resort |
We liked "Mt. View at Crown Ridge Resort" (just down the mountain from "Crown Ridge resort" so much on a trade there that we purchased a 3 bedroom before we left. This was without any sales pitch. We now go every other year. We enjoy the peace and quit of the unit and all of the activities North Conway has to offer in less than a 5 min drive. The restaurants and shopping are great. My kids have the best memories from this area. If you are going with kids or just yourselves...I can tell you what places we liked (restaurants or activities) or ones the kids favor also.
