Hotwire question re: San Francisco airport hotels

We're going to be coming back from Mexico and have to overnight in San Francisco. Because we arrive late and depart early in the morning, I just want to stay at an inexpensive hotel at the airport.
1. Is Hotwire the best place to check?
2. I found one 3 star in "SFO Intl Airport North - Oyster Point". Where's that? Is that at the airport or outside the airport area? I don't believe I find out until I confirm the booking but I don't want to do that if it's not at the airport.
Help.

Oyster Point is fairly close to SFO -- perhaps 3 or 4 miles. I don't think there are any hotels on premises or walkable from the terminals, so is question is whether the Oyster Point candidate runs a shuttle. Many nearby hotels do, and you should probably pick one of those.

Go to www.betterbidding.com - it is a "how-to" webpage for Hotwire, and you will be able to find out which hotel this is and if they have an airport shuttle. I'd be surprised if they don't.

When I have used Hotwire for SF airport I have always got
Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport
1333 Bayshore Highway
Burlingame, California 94010
(650) 347-1234

for approximately $68 per night. It is rated a 4 star and does have a shuttle. It can be a long walk to the elevators though!

Oyster Point

Hi, I am late in getting into this thread, but we have stayed at Oyster Point Marriotts several times. Both are new and nice. No four star, but we use them for exactly what you are needing. Except I have my car. They are about the same distance from SFO as the Marroitt, Hyatt and Westin just south of the airport. SIGNIFICANT difference, is to the best of my knowledge there are no hotel shuttles to Oyster Point.
I would sugest Priceline for SFO and bid around $60 for starters. All the hotels are respectable or four star and have shuttles. Check how often though. Some are not as frequent before 6am. I don't know your needs.
Have a great time,
Steve

Got one

Just an update that I was able to get a 3* which turned out to be the Holiday Inn Airport for a bid of $45 plus fees. Not bad for a Saturday night early March stay.
